About

The Coach

Hi, I'm Tobias Junor.

When I graduated high school, I weighed 128 pounds at 5’11”. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, I just personally hated it. I wanted to be stronger, and I wanted to be fit. As soon as I got to college I hit the gym. I put on a little muscle during those college years, but never really felt strong. I had no idea what I was doing in the nutrition department, and I couldn’t stop checking Bodybuilding.com for new and interesting programs to follow, as I got bored easily.

After graduating and having kids, I continued to work out, and actually got my CPT to become Certified Personal Trainer. I worked with a few clients, and continued to listen to a lot of the information that was coming out about methodologies, but it just never quite added up. Then in 2013, my wife dragged me to a CrossFit class… the rest was history.

That first class was
rough. Even though I thought of myself as a pretty “fit” guy, I struggled to keep up with the other folks. The friendly competition made me push a little harder, and left me feeling accomplished. In 2014, I decided to add to my certifications by taking the CrossFit Level 1 Trainer seminar, and everything began to click a little. These were coaches and trainers with passion for helping others become truly fit, but more importantly, healthy.

Fast forward ten years, and I currently hold the following credentials:

  • Certified CrossFit Trainer (CCFT/CF-L3)
  • Precision Nutrition Level 2 - Certified Master Coach
  • Precision Nutrition Level 1 - Certified Nutrition Coach

I’ve successfully completed countless CrossFit courses allowing me to coach Masters athletes and kids, among various other materials as well.

Now, I’m not here to convince you to start doing CrossFit, and that’s not why I share all of this info. I share because CrossFit coaching has led me to an understanding of health, fitness, and wellness that many other avenues simply haven’t. It sparked a passion in me to lead others to the best discovery of their lives: themselves. Not what others tell them to be… not what other people tell them they are… just who they are underneath.

My goal with
The Promethean Coach is to help individuals find their true selves. On the homepage is the line, “Mediocrity is a Mindset”, and that is my belief. We have all been beaten down by life and want nothing else but to live that mediocre life. I am here to tell you that you can be more.

I’m also here to show you the path.

Who is Prometheus exactly?

In Greek Mythology, Prometheus is a Titan who gifts humanity with fire, and is subsequently subjected to an eternity of punishment from the Gods because of it. Zeus chained Prometheus to a rock where an eagle daily tore at his liver. Why would the gods punish him for this? Because they wanted to limit humans and prevent them from being able to usurp the gods.

Over the past decade of working in health and fitness, everything from training methodologies to nutrition information feels very similar to this myth of Prometheus to me. My aim with The Promethean Coach is to bring the knowledge that I have built over the years to everyone I can.

Beyond that story, if you look up ‘promethean’ in the dictionary you will find a definition stating that it can mean defiant of authority or limits. One of my key findings from my experience is that you have to challenge your own perceived limits in order to find improvement and progress. Regardless of what ‘style’ of training you adhere to, the intensity is what will lead you to results, period.

So let’s exemplify what it means to be Promethean. Lets defy limits daily, and work together to each find our own prescription of secret knowledge that we can use to propel ourselves in life.
